Filming and Photo Shoots

Dulwich College is a beautiful site surrounded by hundreds of years of history and tradition. We welcome all film, television and photographic crews to the College, large or small, and have staff on hand who have experience in dealing with locations work, be it a big-budget feature film unit or a small editorial photo shoot.

The site is very large with extensive parking facilities, yet it is very close to Central London. West Dulwich station (8 mins) offers a half-hourly service to Victoria, North Dulwich station (20 mins) to London Bridge and Tulse Hill (20 mins) to Kings Cross. The number 3 bus service runs from Brixton tube (Victoria Line) to West Dulwich and the P4, P13 and P115 run close by the College.

Our photos can be found on other databases including those of the BBC and the London Film Commission. This website is intended as a guide to those facilities which are available and location managers are always welcome to visit the site.

Availability

When filming is possible the College is available at all times of the day or night. We appreciate that the hours involved can be long with early starts and late finishes and this is not normally a problem. Of course all hours must be negotiated in advance and built into the letter of agreement. Overtime is always payable.

For big shoots especially, we ask that filming is confined to the weekends and the school holidays. The College is a school and it is of paramount importance that the school routine is not disrupted. In most cases it is not possible to accommodate filming during the school day in term-time. Night shoots are possible during the week, but crew cannot usually enter the site until after the school day ends at 4.00 pm. Of course this is a general rule and special circumstances can prevail on occasion.

It is much easier to accommodate stills shoots or very small documentary shoots during the week during term-time, but this is always by special arrangement and at the entire discretion of the Master.

Fees and Contracts

Dulwich College Enterprises Ltd. will expect to sign a comprehensive Letter of Agreement prepared by the company or individuals responsible for the shoot and will also expect to see a copy of the company's insurance policy.

Fees are always payable for any locations work at Dulwich College. These are unique to the particular shoot and will be negotiated based on hours on site, size of unit, number of locations involved and potential disruption caused. This fee will be built into the Letter of Agreement alongside the hours involved for the shoot. An overtime rate will also be agreed.

Normally Dulwich College Enterprises Ltd will invoice the client and expect payment in advance for locations work unless a special arrangement has been agreed.
